Stylish Start To New Film Season

Stylish Start To New Film Season

Our new season of dementia friendly film screenings begins on September 17 with a stylish musical.

Funny Face (U) sees Fred Astaire play a fashion photographer sent out to find a ‘new face’. He discovers Audrey Hepburn working as a bookshop clerk and whisks her off to a Paris modelling agency.

The screening begins at 2pm and finishes at around 4pm. People can move around and come and go as they please during the film and a singalong takes place during the 15 minute interval.

Light and sound is specially adjusted for the screenings which though programmed for people with dementia, their families, friends and carers, are open to anyone wishing to enjoy the film.

Pastoral care is not provided at A Life More Ordinary events so a friend, relative or carer must also attend.

Tickets are priced £6.50/£5.50 concessions with free admission for one friend, family member or carer. There’s a free pastry and coffee with each ticket. To book, ring our box office on 01524 598500 or visit www.dukes-lancaster.org

Further details about A Life More Ordinary are available at http://dukes-lancaster.org/creative-learning/inclusive-theatre/ where there’s short films about the scheme.
