Beauty And The Beast Is A Monster Hit
We're sorry to say there's just a few days left to catch Beauty and the Beast but very pleased to report that it's become one of our most popular Christmas productions in recent years.
Thousands of people have already enjoyed this classic fairytale specially adapted for us by Lancaster-based writer and father-of-two, Eddie Robson.
But if you've not managed to see it yet, don't despair as there's two performances each day until it closes on Saturday (apart from New Year's Eve, when there's just a 2pm show, and New Year's Day when Beauty and the Beast take a well earned rest!)
As you might expect, this show boasts a quirky group of wonderful characters including a hatstand, clock and suit of armour who provide humorous support to Belle, played by Dukes newcomer, Natasha Davidson, and familiar Dukes face, Gareth Cassidy who appears as the Beast.
This production also features Polly Lister who recently won a UK Theatre Award for her performance in Abigail’s Party at Keswick’s Theatre By The Lake.
The show, which is performed in The Round and is recommended for anyone aged 5 plus, has been directed by Dukes Artistic Director, Joe Sumsion, whose very first theatre experience was seeing Beauty and the Beast at The Dukes 42 years ago.
So if you want to join the generations of people who The Dukes has been proudly entertaining for decades over Christmas, tickets are available by ringing our Box Office on 01524 598500 or visit www.dukes-lancaster.org
