‘Diverse Lives’ Eleanor Levin
Eleanor Levin’s tour ‘Historical Women of Lancaster – Diverse Lives’ takes participants on a short and winding route around the oldest part of Lancaster and introduces the fascinating and hugely diverse lives of 10 historical Lancaster women - a footballer, a sculptor, a refugee from the Spanish Civil War, a hunger striking suffragette, a pioneering trans activist, a mayor, a prisoner, and more. There is also a quiz!
‘Diverse Lives’ was written for International Women’s Day 2023 and was received with great acclaim. Litfest is delighted that Eleanor is reprising her popular tour for this year’s festival.
Eleanor Levin is a local educator and tour guide who brings history to life by creating original performance pieces and walking tours. As well as championing women’s history, she also leads tours for adults and children on Lancaster involvement with Transatlantic slavery, the history of Morecambe, and trees.
