Main entrance The Dukes' front entrance is reached via 4 steps, then two further steps, with a handrail on the right-hand side.
Ramp access To use the ramp, go down the cobbled alley to the left of the main entrance (St Anne's Place), then turn right. Ring the doorbell by the ramp and a member of staff will let you in.
A car parking space can usually be reserved at the back of the building in advance for anyone who needs to use the ramp — please mention this when booking.
Dropped kerbs There are dropped kerbs on both sides of St Anne's Place (leading down the cobbled alley to the ramp), and one outside the Round entrance.
The whole of The Front of House facilities, including the gallery, Box Office and accessible toilet, is on one level.
The Box Office is located directly in front of the main entrance. To collect tickets you will need your name or booking reference.
Performance Spaces
The Rake
The Rake theatre is accessible via the main Front of House / Foyer area. It has one row of accessible seating on the front row and the chairs in this row can be removed to accommodate customers using wheelchairs.
Step-free access is available only to the front (first) row. Access to all remaining rows is via stepped side aisles fitted with handrails. There are no central aisles, with entry to each row provided from the side aisles only. As a result, seating beyond the first row is not accessible to wheelchair users or individuals who are unable to negotiate stairs.
The Rake's seating is standard theatre/cinema style seats.
The Round
The Round entrance is situated at the far end of the building and will open 20 minutes before the start of the performance.
The Round entrance, including an accessible toilet, are fully accessible to wheelchair users. There is a dropped kerb outside the Round entrance. If you arrive more than 20 minutes before the performance or would like to access the Box Office, Cafébar or Gallery, please see the access details above.
The auditorium is a theatre-in-the-round layout, with seating on up to all four sides of the performance area. Ground floor seating is level and accessible via a step-free route, with spaces available for wheelchair users. Additional seating is provided in the balcony, which is accessed by stairs only.
The Round's seating is made up of two and three-seat benches, with backs but no armrests. Cinema in The Round has additional 2 seater soafs.
Moor Space
Moor Space is approximately a two-minute walk from our main building, situated on the corner of Moor Lane and Edward Street. The entrance is accessed via a ramp.
Moor Space is a flexible studio-style performance space with seating layouts that can vary depending on the event, so seating is typically unallocated. The space is all on one level and is accessible via a step-free route throughout, making it fully accessible for wheelchair users. An accessible toilet is also available within the venue.
Moor Space's seating is a cobination of benches (with backs but no armrests) and individual seats.
