Access all areas for young people as part of our Young Creatives programme
Last week we invited 17 young people to complete a work placement as part of our annual Young Creatives Programme. Coming from schools and colleges from across Lancashire and Cumbria, young people were given an access all areas pass, learning from the many wonderful people that make our theatre tick. They received workshops and masterclasses from our Front of House teams, Marketing teams, Production staff and an inspiring talk from this years’ Three Musketeers cast.
Led by The Dukes Creative Learning Department, the young people also received classes from key members of our Inclusive and Outreach teams, saw our Three Musketeers in action as they took audience members on a trip to 17th Century France, before rounding off the week by creating their very own short plays with help from Associate Director Alex Summers.
Our Dukes Young Creatives will now form part of our Young Ambassadors group; creating future events at The Dukes, led by young people and for young people whilst working towards their silver and gold arts awards.
The Dukes Young Creatives Programme is funded by Lancaster University as part of The Dukes MAKE programme.
