Spoken word artist Nathan Parker will perform a selection of poetry and free verse for teenagers and beyond in this reading-cum-inspirational workshop by Blackpool’s poet of the north. Here’s poetry that is tough, funny, issue-based and thoughtful, ranging in subject matter from mental health, identity and peer pressure to self-discovery, everyday angst and more.
‘Nathan uses the medium of poetry to shine a light on the highs and lows of the 21st century teenage years and provides a refreshing voice to the often voiceless teenage audience. Sometimes funny, sometimes gritty, sometimes reflective: all with raw emotion at their core’ English Teacher
‘Incredibly relatable, understands teenagers on a deeper emotional level, poems to support every situation’ Year 10 Student
