The launch of a new poetry pamphlet press

Litfest is delighted to introduce a brand new poetry pamphlet publisher, Damson Press, which today launches new work by Mike Barlow, Mark Carson, Isobel Dixon, Ilse Pedler and Pauline Yarwood.

In themed pamphlets, Damson Press poets winkle out the niggling, intriguing aspects of their particular fascination. Their cycles of poems may be linked by fancy or thesis and be serious, sardonic, elegiac or even ecstatic.

AUTHOR:

Damson Press is named for the gleaming, complex fruit that flourishes in the north-west of England. The writers we publish are based in the same varied, challenging, gorgeous ground, though their topics range across time as well as space. Although Damson press likes to support poets far and wide, their focus is regional – think Cumbria, Lancashire, Westmorland. Their original inspiration is also taken from Lancaster Litfest, where some of their early connections were made.
