Hadestown is heading to cinemas across the UK this October in the form of a special live capture of the West End production.
Created by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown reimagines myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of Hades and Persephone, bringing the two together for a wholly original take on what these old stories have to teach us. Blending folk, jazz, blues and New Orleans-inspired sounds, the musical has become one of the defining theatre successes of the past decade.
Featuring the original Broadway principal cast, who reunited for a limited London engagement in 2025. The film was recorded across those three performances.
