Vintage Viewing At Iconic Theatre
We're delighted to announce a new partnership with Vintage by the Sea, one of Morecambe's most popular annual festivals. For the first time, we will be screening films in Morecambe’s Winter Gardens as part of the seaside festival which celebrates all things vintage. The special cinematic event kicks off with a touch of class on September 1 and a chance to see Audrey Hepburn in the sparkling romantic comedy, Breakfast At Tiffany’s(PG) which will be screened again on September 4. Disney’s delightful animated version of Alice in Wonderland(U) will be shown on September 2 and 5 to mark the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s story. And the Lancashire-based coming of age drama, Northern Soul(15), set in the Seventies, will have the Winter Gardens buzzing on September 3 and 5. Our Film Programme and Live Events Manager, Johnathan Ilott said: “The Dukes is delighted to play a new role in such a popular event as Vintage by the Sea and I’m sure that audiences will enjoy the chance to see these great films in such an iconic location as the Winter Gardens.” Wayne Hemingway who runs Vintage by the Sea said: “It is great to welcome The Dukes on board this year. The Dukes is a high quality local cultural institution that serves the community brilliantly and their wonderful selection of classic films will create an exciting new angle to Vintage by the Sea’s growing programme.” Tickets for each film are priced £10/£9 concessions apart from Alice in Wonderland which is priced £6.50/£5.50 concessions (a £1 per transaction fee applies to online bookings). The Dukes Vintage Cinema season also includes outdoor screenings of Cinema Paradiso(PG); It Follows(15); Nosferatu(PG) and The Grand Budapest Hotel(15) in Lancaster’s Williamson Park from August 19-22. These outdoor screenings, which are supported by Film Hub North West Central, follow the run of our walkabout production of Oliver Twist in the park which ends on August 15.
