Victoria Wood Foundation Grant Success

Great news!
The Dukes has been awarded a grant of £5,000 for its work with Young Carers in Lancashire. The grant will fund the project for two years from with a creative activity or workshop each month to help the young carers to develop creative skills and get a break from their caring responsibilities. Activities will include drama workshops, private cinema screenings, theatre trips, stage makeup tutorials and painting classes!
The new Head of Creative Community, Dr. Carly Henderson, said: "We're delighted to receive funding from the Victoria Wood Foundation to continue our creative work with Young Carers and further strengthen our partnership with Barnardos Lancashire Young Carers. This grant will allow us to create further opportunities for the young people to take part in workshops and performances. We're looking forward to planning the activities with the young people and igniting new ideas and interests in the creative / performing arts."
Thank you to Victoria Wood Foundation and to Barnardo's Lancashire Young Carers, for their endless work and support to young carers. We would also, like to thank the Duchy of Lancaster who funded the activities early this year.
