DukesDocs are a new strand at our cinema, presenting the best new documentary films from around the world.
The spring collection kicks off on April 9 with Don’t Look Back(PG), celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic moment in music history when Bob Dylan shocked his legions of fans by ‘going electric’.
This classic documentary followed Dylan’s UK 1965 tour and after the screening, Lancaster Folk Club will present an evening of Dylan classics in The Dukes Café Bar.
As punters prepare for the Grand National, DukesDocs present Dark Horse(PG) on April 14, May 23 and 25.
This uplifting documentary tells the rags to riches story of an unlikely Welsh mining village syndicate who bred a winning racehorse. Following the screening on April 14, there will be a satellite question and answer event with the filmmakers.
DukesDocs take a stylish turn on April 27 and 30 with Dior & I(12A), an in-depth look behind the scenes at one of the world’s most iconic fashion houses – Christian Dior.
Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck(15) concludes the spring season of DukesDocs with screenings on May 6 and 7.
This comprehensive look at the life of the legendary Nirvana frontman blends Cobain’s personal archive of art, music and home movies never seen before with animation and revealing interviews with his family and closest friends.
