Loops & Dilations: A Season of Time Travel Films
Join us for a season of films that leap, loop and travel through time
In celebration of his new book Trauma in 21st-Century Time Travel Cinema, The Dukes have partnered with Lancaster University’s Dr Kwasi Tembo for a season of time travel films.
In the near future (January), we’ll be screening the contemporary classic Dark City. Run Lola Run and Interstellar with Dr Tembo will be joining us to introduce all three films.
In the Season
A man struggles with memories of his past, including a wife he cannot recall, in a nightmarish world devoid of sunlight, governed by beings with telekinetic powers who seek the souls of humans.
Time is running out for Lola. When Lola’s hapless boyfriend leaves 100,000 Deutsche Marks on the subway, she has 20 minutes to find and deliver the amount to his mobster boss.
Christopher Nolan's Sci-fi epic. When Earth becomes uninhabitable in the future, a farmer and former NASA astronaut, Joseph Cooper, is tasked with piloting a spacecraft, along with a team of researchers, to find a new planet for humans.
