The Dukes is excited to welcome back LA1 Shorts for their biggest and best festival yet.

LA1 Shorts is Lancaster's very own exciting and friendly short film festival. The festival offers audiences the chance to watch fantastic new films from emerging talents and offers filmmakers the opportunity to screen their films in front of a packed auditorium. 

This year the festival will present four screenings on Saturday 25 September, celebrating the magic of short films.

Shorts for Wee Ones, 11am

A delightful, truly international smorgasbord of family-friendly short films, hailing from around the world. Curated by Discovery Film Festival, Scotland's International Film Festival for Young Audiences. Click here to book.

A Youth + Recorded Q&A, 12.45pm

A powerful documentary short about An Afghan refugee, on the cusp of adulthood, who is stuck in a camp in Athens. Click here to book.

LA1: Lancashire Shorts, 6pm

Discover the best short films from our county’s filmmakers with the Lancashire Shorts collection. This year’s vibrant selection of shorts are from a wide age range of filmmakers, who have produced films in a variety of genres, including some heartfelt and light-hearted films. As always with LA1 Shorts the collection includes films from first-time filmmakers new to the festival. Everyone attending the screening will get to vote for their favourite film for the Lancashire Filmmakers Audience Choice Award. Click here to book.
