In the National Year of Reading join M. G. Leonard for an inspiring, lively event celebrating Litfest Big Read title, Twitch. ‘A twist-laden, thriller-like tale of a bird-mad boy, some bullies and an escaped convict hiding in the nearby woods’ Observer

Discover how M.G. Leonard’s passion for nature, friendship, and adventures give powerful grist for her storytelling. She will share fascinating behind-the-scenes information about birds and storytelling, revealing how the natural world helps to shape the characters and plots in her irresistible stories, and why she believes mysteries can empower young readers to think bravely and compassionately about the world around them.

Expect readings and creative tips, explore the joy of curiosity that runs through all her novels and be among the first to hear her read from and talk about how she came to write her latest book The Adventures of Portly the Otter, a lost story from The Wind in the Willows.

This event is perfect for budding detectives, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who loves a story filled with heart, humour, and adventure.
