Retold by Katherine Woodfine

‘I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.'

Join bestselling author Katherine Woodfine to celebrate L.M. Montgomery's timeless classic, which has enchanted generations of children.

When the spirited and imaginative Anne moves to live at Green Gables – a beautiful farmhouse, set among the summer flowers of Prince Edward Island – she quickly realises there has been a terrible mistake. Her new family – gentle Matthew and his stern sister Marilla – were expecting someone quite different! But will Anne succeed in enchanting Matthew and Marilla with her cheer and imagination?

In this fun event, Green Gables fans old and new will have the chance to enjoy the relatable mishaps and adventures of 'Anne with an e' – and to hear from Katherine about bringing the story to life in an enchanting new abridgement for younger readers, accompanied by Isabelle Follath’s engaging and witty artwork.

Katherine Woodfine is the author of the Sinclair's Mysteries and Taylor & Rose Secret Agents series, beginning with The Clockwork Sparrow, which was a Sunday Times bestseller and nominated for numerous awards. As well as retelling Anne of Green Gables, she has adapted Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice for younger readers, and is currently working on a children's adaptation of The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. Born and raised in Lancashire, she now lives in Lancaster.
