Are you a queer artist, creative, filmmaker, fashion designer, crafter, or activist based in the North West? Are you interested in exploring the music and fashion of the LGBTQ+ community as presented through film and nightlife? Would you like an opportunity to exhibit work based on this theme?
Queer By Gum has been invited to curate Visions in Vogue and Vinyl, an exhibition responding to Pride at The Dukes, as part of BFI's RIP IT UP at The Dukes - a season of film and events celebrating young people, queer music and fashion on screen.
Come to the upcoming Exhibition Intro Workshop with Queer By Gum. Join us on Sunday 19 July, 2pm - 5pm, for a free workshop introducing the themes of our upcoming exhibition at The Dukes - an opportunity to understand the brief, discuss ideas, and meet other creatives. We strongly encourage young people to get involved however, the workshop is open to all!
The workshop will include:
- A brief introduction to Pride at the Dukes: Visions in Vogue and Vinyl
- A group discussion on the history, politics, and importance of LGBTQ+ nightlife - past and present
- Group art-making
- An opportunity to discuss exhibition ideas
Can't make the workshop but would like to show your work at our upcoming exhibition? Send us an email at admin@queerbygum.org.uk to discuss your ideas!
