Celebrate World Book Day with a special costume making workshop led by the talented Laura O'Connor, our very own costume maker for our Play in the Park and Christmas shows! This workshop is the perfect way for kids to bring their favourite book characters to life while honing their creativity.
This is a D.I.Y style workshop - we're inviting parents and carers to support their children with their costume making using recycled plastic and cardboard, craft materials, paint and fabrics (the good old-fashioned way!)
Please bring along any garments or materials that you would like embellishing, or you would like help transforming into a costume. Think about your child's base costume and Laura will help with ideas and inspiration to bring the character to life. We will have some resources, fabrics and materials on hand, including paint and craft supplies, and Laura will have access to a sewing machine. However, we kindly ask that that parents/carers supply any pieces that may be required, for example, a base costume or a specific, coloured T-shirt.
Workshop highlights:
- Character Inspiration: Kids will choose their favourite characters from beloved books and learn how to translate those ideas into amazing costumes.
- Expert Guidance: With Laura's extensive experience, participants will receive the best guidance and advice.
- Creative Collaboration: Everyone can work together, sharing ideas and inspiration.
- Take-Home Magic: Each child will leave with their very own handmade costume, ready to wear for World Book Day celebrations!
Perfect for children 4-11 years old.
*Parents / carers are required to stay at all times but do not require a ticket
