Front of House Manager

39 hours per week.
£26,477 per annum

The Dukes is seeking a Front of House Manager to oversee the public-facing areas of The Dukes, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons and visiting companies/artists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and manage a team of visitor experience assistants and volunteers, support management of the housekeeping team.
  • Act as the senior manager on duty during performances, overseeing audience flow, late admissions, and intervals.
  • Resolve customer enquiries and complaints professionally to maintain high service standards.
  • Support Head of Visitor Experience in operational duties such as building security and patron safety, including fire evacuation procedures and health and safety compliance; carrying out weekly/monthly checks in various areas.
  • Oversee bar/cafe and catering operations to maximise income and manage stock control.
  • Handle cash management, daily taking procedures, rotas and monitor staff training and welfare.
  • Ensure all public areas, including hallways and auditoriums, are clean, well-presented, and accessible.  Ensure visitors and companies to The Dukes are fully inducted to the buildings, covering facilities and procedures.
  • Coordinate with backstage teams, programming, creative communities and marketing department to align FOH activities with the programmed shows/films/workshops

Housekeeper

18 hours per week.
£23,809.50 pro rata

The Dukes is seeking a part-time housekeeper to join their team, responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness while ensuring the physical building remains safe and operational for audiences, visit companies and artists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily deep cleaning of all public and backstage areas, including the auditorium, dressing rooms and public areas.
  • Act as a key holder responsible for locking/unlocking the premises.
  • Adhere to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
  • Monitor, order, and restock cleaning consumables.
  • Effectively report any relevant issues with buildings, fixtures, equipment and services.
  • Emergency cleaning support and any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties of the post as defined.
