The Dukes Safety Measures Update: July 2021

The Dukes Safety Measures Update: July 2021

Following the Government announcement with regards to the lifting of restrictions from 19th July we have reviewed our COVID-secure procedures. Our main priority remains the safety of our team, artists, visitors and audiences and how the Dukes can continue to provide a positive cultural experience for all those who work with us and visit us. Therefore we will be taking the following steps:

Face Masks

All our team and artists will continue to wear facemasks and we want all our audiences to continue to wear face masks as well when in the Dukes. Wearing a face mask reduces the risk of contracting and transmitting COVID 19 so we are asking that if you are coming to the Dukes you wear your face mask both within the front of house spaces and in the auditorium, we feel that with cases still high in our area that this is an important precaution that we all should be taking. Wearing your face masks protects you and your community.

Social Distancing

Social distancing will remain in place at the Dukes. We will continue to social distance our seating and public spaces with a one way system still in place to support you moving around the building. All our classes and events will still go ahead with social distancing in place. Our protective screens will remain in place at the Bar and Box Office. We will reopen our Bar for counter service from the beginning of August but we will continue our pre-order service online for anyone to use when booking their tickets. We will continue to use e-tickets and our Duty Managers are always on hand to support anyone visiting the Dukes.

Good Hygiene

Our hand sanisters stations will remain and we will encourage everyone to continue to use them whilst in the building. We will also be maintaining our programme of additional cleaning across the building ensuring our spaces are always clean and sanitised to a high standard.

Park Show

As our park show is outdoors you are not required to wear a face mask but please make sure you have one with you to use the café and toilets at the Park. We are operating the show with a reduced capacity this year in order to allow social distancing within the Park and ensure everyone has the space they need to enjoy the performance.

We are asking all our audiences to support these measures from the 19th July to ensure the Dukes continues to be a safe and secure experience. If you have any questions or queries please either drop us an email at ask@dukeslancaster.org, call the Box Office (Mon-Sat 10.30am-4pm) on 01524 598500 or just pop in and see us and our team will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. We will review our procedures again in mid-August and continue to keep you all updated.

We look forward to seeing you all this summer and sharing some great films and live performance with you all.

Best,

Karen and all the Dukes Team
