Prime Time Drama At The Dukes

Prime Time Drama At The Dukes

We're pleased to announce the launch of a new drama group here at The Dukes - this time for people aged over 55.

Prime Time Drama is a free 10 week course which will run on Thursday afternoons from March 31-June 2.

It will give older people a chance to have a go at acting, whether or not they’ve had any previous experience.

The course will involve sharing stories, easy improvisation activities and developing short dramatic scripts and scenes together in a fun and friendly environment.

Prime Time Drama will be run by Louise Fazackerley who studied Theatre Studies and Creative Writing at Lancaster University. She’s since worked for the NHS, Citizens Advice Bureaux and in libraries and community centres before beginning to write and make theatre again.

Louise said: “People over 55 have a lot of valuable things to say and share and often have some spare time to learn new things. This will be an opportunity to develop talents they never knew they had, make new friends and have a lot of laughter.”

The course will aim towards an informal performance but group members can decide whether they want to be on stage or behind the scenes.

Prime Time Drama is run in association with Age UK Lancashire. To secure a free place, ring our box office on 01524 598500 or pop in to the theatre and complete an application form.
